The nanny generally works 8 to 11 hours a day, excluding weekends and holidays. She provides infant care through school-age care in your home. Her duties include providing transportation between school and home, preparation of the child's meals, laundry, light duty cleaning after the child, compliance with the parents' code of discipline, and care of the educational needs of the child or children. Most nannies' duties are limited primarily to the care of a child or children, although some may serve dual roles to help in housekeeping, cooking, etc.. The Hawaii Nanny We pride ourselves on the quality of the nannies we place. We take great care and diligence to screen and interview prospective nannies, and we require that all of our nannies be trained in infant C.P.R., have knowledge of child development, and have an out-of-home living experience (demonstrating self-support). Our nannies must have a minimum of 2 years experience for child care before they can be referred to you. We also look for bright individuals who possess poise, confidence, and grace under pressure. These uniquely qualified candidates ensure successful placement for your family, children, and for the nanny. Hawaii Nanny & Domestic Service is a proud member of the International Nanny Association and the Better Business Bureau. Our affiliations with these groups requires the highest quality of service and allows us to access nannies nationwide to find a match for you. As well, we advertise in local publications to attract the family-oriented individuals so prevalent here in Hawaii. Wages & Compensation Although individual cases will vary, the minimum starting salary for a first-time nanny in Hawaii is roughly $1100 per month on a live-in basis. Live-out nannies generally start at $1400 per month, or $10.00 per hour. Other compensation details are worked out separately between the nanny and yourself (for example, holidays, work schedules, duties, etc.) Live-out nannies start at $300.00 per week. We can assist you in deciding how to pay your employee or independent contractor. *If you have any questions about our services or about employing a nanny, please call us at 597-8211, or see our Contact Page for hours of operation, and other contact information.
